Seth Rogen has been nominated for 9 Emmys, but his win for lead actor in a comedy series for his work on The Studio marks his first one.
The Studio, which is one of the most nominated shows of the year with 23 nods, is a send-up of Hollywood. Seth Rogen plays a Hollywood studio head torn between making artistic films and movies that will be a surefire commercial success, like a Kool-Aid movie.
The Studio co-creator Evan Goldberg has said the show was inspired by an executive who once told him “‘I got into this because I love movies — but now I have this fear that my job is to ruin them.’”
TIME’s TV critic Judy Berman called the show “2025’s best new show to date, and one of Hollywood’s sharpest self-portraits in ages.”
"I literally prepared nothing, I've never won anything in my life," he said in his acceptance speech on Sunday night.
Rogen is best known for his comedy roles in Knocked-Up, Superbad, Pineapple Express, 40-Year-Old-Virgin.
