Thousands of people who have visited a coffee shop in a small South Dakota town are “paying it forward” and purchasing coffee for the person behind them in line.
At Rev it Up Espresso, a drive-through coffee trailer in Sturgis, more than 3,589 customers in the past six months have paid for the cup of coffee for the stranger behind them, ABC reports. The town is only home to 6,627 people.
“Every time I would say that the person in front of you has bought your coffee they get a big smile,” coffee shop owner Michael Smith told ABC. “It’s a blessing. And they are equally blessed when they know they can bless the next person.”
