The actress Amber Heard, who is married to Johnny Depp, will go to trial in Australia on charges of smuggling the couple’s dogs into the country, the Guardian reports.
Heard landed in Australia in May with dogs Pistol and Boo in tow, having failed to quarantine the pets aboard the private jet on which she traveled. In July, courts charged her with two counts of illegal importation in violation of quarantine policies and one count of producing a false document. She faces fines of up to $100,000 or a sentence of 10 years in prison.
Heard said earlier this month that she would plead not guilty.
